About Us

We are a small group of secondary students involved in a charity that brings awareness and support to women and children living in poverty in Northern Ghana.

Our goal is to help women and children in Ghana who are in need. Young girls especially are struggling to seek education and necessities due to gender inequality. We strive to make a change for their country and let our local community know about this pressing issue. We also hope to transform girls into leaders of change. A strong leader helps to positively change the impact of others.

Shannen O'Brian, the founder of Create Change Charity (2008) has given us this amazing opportunity. Shannen has been working on solving gender inequality for most of her adult life. Upon seeing struggles in women's everyday lives, she decided to start a charity which would include young, marginalized women in its program design.

We learn to seek results and improve youth leadership skills to learn the outcomes and previous experiences to extend our mission of helping Ghana!

Key Terms

Youth Leadership

Young students put effort into creating a new and sustainable future. This would help globally with an innovative mindset.

As high school students, we are actively contributing to create a better for those around us. Our innovative mindset is vital in driving global change and shaping a better world. We demonstrate leadership by working together to solve complex problems away from our own country.

Gender Inequality

Gender inequality remains a significant challenge worldwide, where disparities in education, employment, and social rights continue to limit opportunities for women and girls. For example, women may often be relegated to domestic duties and are undervalued, facing societal expectations that limit their potential as powerful thinkers and contributors.

As girls in our society, we are aware of the gender inequalities that persist constantly, where women are often confined to undervalued roles. Through our education and activism, we are committed to challenging these outdated stereotypes and advocating for a world where all individuals, regardless of gender, are recognized for their potential and ideas.

Women Empowerment

Many women face challenges in building their confidence and may feel compelled to work behind the scenes, often supporting men rather than stepping into the spotlight themselves.

In high school, we see many young women of all ages struggle with confidence issues. However, we are increasingly acknowledging this pattern and actively working to change it by encouraging each other to step into the spotlight and embrace leadership roles.
